IN MEMORIAM PFC SIGISMUND WORTKOWSKI KIA April 1, 1945 Sigismund Wortkowski and George Verostko were both "killed in action" on April 1st, 1945, when their "half track", named "cesspool", was blown up after they passed through a small town named Authausen in Germany. Sigismund's dog tag, shown below, was recently found (2015).
